Premier League 2011/2012

The Barclays Premier League has a free fantasy football game this year, which can be found here at their website.

The league kicks off on the 13th of August.

On Sunday the 28th of August is the first "Super Sunday" of the season with Tottenham playing Manchester City at 1.30pm and Arsenal meeting Manchester United at 4pm. This sadly clashes with TeBe's away match at 2pm against Trabzonspor. Oh well.

Here an interesting look at the teams this season and a brave attempt from Phil McNulty to make some predictions... http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/ ... ue_pa.html

A nice look at the history of the Premier League... here
English football has been revolutionised with many of the best foreign players pouring in to gradually enhance the reputation of a division that is now regarded by many as the best in the world.

Money has flooded into the game with much of it ending up in the players' pockets. The average footballer's weekly wage in 1992 stood at £1,755 but is now in excess of £30,000 and while sizeable debt underpins the majority of clubs, the return in terms of entertainment has captivated a nation.

Manchester United have won 12 of the 19 Premier League titles in an era dominated by Sir Alex Ferguson. His United sides consequently dominate my all-time XI although there was simply no room to mention a plethora of fabulous players. The League has been blessed with a vast number of stars, enthralling games and great goals and here is a humble attempt to nominate some of the highlights.
All matches on this weekend except Spurs vs Everton, which was cancelled because of some Nordsachsen fans rioting in London.

Tomorrow 2nd Super Sunday @ Belushis. From 14.30 Spurs vs Liverpool, later United vs Chelsea and at 13.30 for the early birds is Rangers vs Celtic. Oh and after 7pm is NFL Sunday with cheap drinks, wings and ribs!

It isn't an event as such... it is just on. All Premier League games and on Sundays from 7pm cheap food and drinks with NFL matches. It is "awesome".
